Water Chestnut
Water Chestnut, is an easy plant to grow
.It likes shallow water and produces the
edible corm on the root, you can plant
them in your pond, or to make harvest
easy you can plant them in pots in the
pond or just grow them in any container
that will hold at least 3 inches of water.
Containers like cat litter pans or 5 gallon
buckets work well. If you want to grow a
lot of Chestnuts, you can buy a $10 kids
pool from Wal-Mart. --If you are growing
Water Chestnuts in containers, and not in
a pond you might want to add some small
fish, [like Mosquito Fish ]to the
containers to eat any Mosquito larva so
you don't have a problem breeding extra
Mosquito's.
